This post is a series of assets I created during my time spent working at Simformotion LLC. The assets created were used for machine training simulations created in Unity's game engine. I worked on machines from both Caterpillar and Fletcher Mining Equipment, as well as a variety of materials/environmental assets that are used to set dress the simulation environments.
I created a dusty sort of dirt material used to dress construction environments where there would be a lot of dug up ground and dried dirt. Another material I created was a rocky sort of riverbed intended to be used for culverts (I took reference from a similar material created in this post: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/obYW4q). In addition to those I created a Box Elder and Red Maple trees using speedtree to help make the process easier. I gathered materials for the leaves using quixel megascans and real life images off the internet.
For Fletcher I modeled and textured the AC unit installed on their Roofbolter machine, and for Caterpillar I retopoed and textured a bucket used by their 340 Excavator.
I want to also take the time to thank my coworkers for all the help and feedback they gave me during my time working at Simformotion. My art lead: https://www.artstation.com/ntwright and coworker: https://www.artstation.com/justinthiels were great teachers and I learned so much from them during my time spent working with them. I also want to shoutout my fellow intern: https://www.artstation.com/sophiaharper6 for being a great person to work with. Thank you to the team at Simformotion for giving me the opportunity to be a part of these fantastic projects.
